The popular Somerset golf course has been bought by its members. In May it was offered to the market by Savills with a guide price of £1.35m

A successful Somerset golf club has been bought by its members after being offered to the market by Savills Leisure department. The sale of 18-hole Orchardleigh Golf Course, near Bath, was negotiated by the Leisure Team in Oxford for close to the guide price of £1.35m.
The proprietary members’ club, set in parkland originally belonging to Orchardleigh House, has a purpose-built clubhouse, driving range and practice area, chipping/practice greens and greenkeeper’s building which complement the golf course which was designed by Brian Huggett.
Sarah Payne from Savills’ Leisure Department says, “Orchardleigh is a particularly attractive golf course, set in an attractive parkland, and is a well established and profitable business. The members purchase of the property demonstrates how highly they value this well presented facility.”
