Link Golf UK adds Middlesbrough Municipal to growing portfolio

Golf course operator Link Golf UK has taken on the management of Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre, taking its portfolio of venues in the north of England to six.

Golf course operator Link Golf UK has taken on the management of Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre, taking its portfolio of venues in the north of England to six. 

Under the new partnership, Links Golf UK has outlined a range of planned improvements, including the introduction of Trackman driving range technology.

Link Golf UK takes over from Everyone Golf, which currently runs Middlesbrough’s leisure centres as Everyone Active.

In addition to the 6,324 yard, 18-hole course, the 160-acre site features a 20-bay floodlit driving range, a clubhouse and practice facilities.

Andrew Terry, director and founder of Link Golf UK, said the company’s focus was on community engagement, investment in technology and ensuring the facility becomes a vibrant, welcoming venue for all.

He said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be appointed as the new operator of Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre. The golf course and its facilities are already fantastic, and we look forward to building on this strong foundation. Our vision is to deliver affordable, accessible golf to the people of Middlesbrough while enhancing the facilities to create a first-class golfing destination for the local community.”

Middlesbrough mayor Chris Cooke said: “This important appointment marks the start of an exciting new chapter for such a popular community golf facility, with much-needed investment that will stand it in good stead for many years to come.”

Link Golf UK’s portfolio also includes Tapton Park in Chesterfield, Stanley Park in Blackpool, Marland Golf Course in Rochdale, Heaton Park in Manchester, and Derby Golf Course in Derby.
