Golf complex for sale at £2.25m

FPDSavills have been instructed to sell Open Golf Centres at Christchurch in Dorset - a golf complex which includes a 60 bay driving range

FPDSavills have been instructed to sell Open Golf Centres, Christchurch, Bournemouth, Dorset on behalf of the Joint Administrative Receivers, Andy Stoneman and Paul Clark of Menzies Corporate Restructuring. The golf complex was opened in June 2001.

The 170 acre site, which is straddled by the River Stour, comprises a par 72, 18 hole golf course, separate par 3, 9 hole course, practice range, substantial club house with conference facilities and a unique 60 bay, 2 tier driving range with floodlighting and 3 separate landing ranges. The golf complex, which is leased from Bournemouth Borough Council, is designed to accommodate golfers at all levels and the philosophy has been to focus on an accessible golf product that is readily available to the public, rather than to build up a private membership.

Nick Sweeney of FPDSavills said, “This is a pioneering golf facility, providing exactly what the public golfer requires – a variety of different golfing experiences all under one roof. Using the unique 60 bay golf driving range, one can actually play an equivalent 18 hole round of golf without getting wet.”

The leasehold interest is offered for sale in the region of £2.25 million. Open Golf Centres’ sister course on the western fringe of Leicester is also available to purchase separately.
