Hurlston Hall Golf Club is just 6 miles from Southport on England’s ‘Golf Coast’ and 20 miles from Royal Liverpool at Hoylake where the Open Championship commences on 20th July. The 18 hole course was designed to championship standards by Donald Steel, the internationally renowned golf course architect, who is well known for his work on many top courses and the current president of the English Golf Union.
At 6,757 yards SSS72 it offers a challenging round of golf in an attractive environment on good quality free draining undulating parkland. The excellent practice facilities include an 18 bay floodlit driving range. Golfers have their own area in the spacious clubhouse which also provides extensive facilities for functions and events.
In 2005 a new 1,560m² (16,800sq.ft) leisure club was built which provides a wide range of facilities including a pool. The whole complex has been the brainchild of Jim Vose and Ruth Hurst Vose and over a period approaching twenty years they have built a large, friendly and profitable business. They have now decided to retire and have instructed Strutt & Parker to handle the sale of the freehold, which has a guide price of £4.5 million
The golf and leisure clubs are run largely independently and are offered for sale either as a whole or separately.
Charles Greville-Heygate, a partner in the Leisure & Hotel Department, said, “This is one of the best golf and health clubs offered for sale recently. It is within easy reach of some major population centres including Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and the Wirral. It is also close to a great golfing area. It gives the discerning buyer the opportunity to acquire a really good property and business with potential to develop it further.”
