Falmouth Golf Club sold

The club was offered with a guide price of £1.5 million but the sale price was not disclosed

The sale of Falmouth Golf Club has been concluded successfully, reports Gary Witham of FPDSavills (Leisure & Institutional) who, along with joint agents, Miller Commercial of Truro, were marketing the Course with a guide price of £1.5 million.
The club produced a great deal of interest from applicants, both locally and nationally. Although the sale price was not disclosed, a number of bids were received. The buyer, David Hughes, grew up in the West Country and now lives in the Cotswolds. He intends to carry out improvements to the Clubhouse, with a greater emphasis on bar and catering facilities. A resident golf professional is to be appointed shortly.
Many of the holes on the course offer some of the most picturesque scenery within the county, with holes 14 and 15 having stunning panoramic views over Falmouth Bay.
“I love the course,” said David Hughes, “and pay tribute to the former owners and greenkeepers.”
By popular demand, he will be making it a little more forgiving for the average golfer.
