Chirk Golf Club closes with 16 redundancies

Myddleton Leisure Limited – Statement from Administrators

Nigel Price, partner in the Birmingham office of corporate recovery specialist Begbies Traynor, has made the following statement regarding Chirk Golf Club:

“Chirk Golf Club ceased trading on Sunday 30th September and all 16 members of staff have been made redundant. Attempts to sell the business as a going concern were unsuccessful. Members of the golf club will be informed this week.”

Addressing Myddleton Leisure Limited as a whole, Nigel Price continued: “TheMarinacontinues to trade as normal and as detailed in the administrators proposals, it is anticipated that the company will exit administration via a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA).”

When the Club was placed on the market, Guy Myddelton, sole director of Myddelton Leisure Limited which runs the golf club, was quoted as saying: “Trading conditions for Chirk Golf Club had been made more difficult this year by the terrible summer weather, which has affected the number of visiting golfers.”
