First indoor golf facility opens in Kazakhstan powered by Foresight Sports

Situated in the prestigious Rixos Almaty Hotel in Almaty, Kazakhstan, The Bunker has officially opened the doors to a new indoor golf centre which was designed and installed by Foresight Sports Europe.

The venue is the first of its kind, not only in Kazakhstan, but also Central Asia, and has been created in the former site of a basement nightclub that has been redundant for over five years.

It features five private bay simulators powered by Foresight Sports latest overhead launch monitor and simulator engine, the Falcon. One of the bays offers a VIP experience, with upgraded 4K technology, a Swing Catalyst pressure plate and swing analysis software.

In addition to the five simulators, the facility features a custom putting green powered by PuttView technology. The Augmented Reality system overlays critical information onto the green and tracks the ball in real-time to deliver valuable putting data and insights.

The Bunker is also home to a luxury lounge and bar offering best-in-class facilities to its members, as well as hotel guest and walk-in customers.

Commenting on the project, Jeremy Kavanagh, Golf Industry Consultant at JPK Enterprises Limited, said: “A few months ago, I got a call from a friend saying he wanted to open an indoor golf venue in Almaty, and he wanted to do it before Christmas. Under normal circumstances this wouldn’t have been possible, but I knew that in Kazakhstan if there is a will then they will find a way, so I accepted his invitation to work on the project.”

“With that I chose Foresight Sports Europe as the technology partner as they were the only company, I felt could provide the complete solution needed to deliver this project in such a short time. The combination of bringing in Foresight’s expertise and working with some fantastic professionals on the ground in Almaty had us as a team achieve the almost impossible of opening The Bunker in just 60 days after inception! I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve collectively created in such a short time, to not only bring something new and unique to the region for existing golfers to enjoy but also to create a facility that will help grow the game in this fantastic country.”

Foresight Sports Europe’s EMEA Sales Manager, James Stewart, added: “We are thrilled to have played such a major part in the opening of the first commercial facility in Kazakhstan to use Foresight Sports’ cutting-edge golf simulator technology. The Bunker really is “a game changer” and promises to revolutionise the golfing experience in the area.”
