Aphrodite hits the million mark on Trackman Range

Data-driven practice milestone reflects growing engagement at PGA National Cyprus

Aphrodite Hills Resort has marked a significant milestone at its new golf academy, with one million shots now recorded on the island’s first Trackman Range at PGA National Cyprus.

Since opening in August, the Trackman Range has quickly become a focal point for golfers of all abilities, serving resort guests, members, visiting players and coaching programmes. The milestone highlights both the popularity of the facility and the volume of performance data now being generated across practice, coaching and game-based play.

Every shot hit on the range is captured by Trackman’s tour-proven radar and camera technology, providing detailed insight into ball speed, launch angle, spin rates, carry distances, dispersion patterns and club delivery. This growing dataset allows coaches and players at Aphrodite Hills Resort to analyse trends, benchmark performance, tailor coaching programmes and track improvement over time, while also supporting engaging games and challenges for recreational users.

Miguel Girbes, Director of Golf & Sports at Aphrodite Hills Resort, said: “Reaching one million shots is a clear indicator of how quickly the Trackman Range has been embraced. Beyond the headline number, the real value lies in the depth of information we can now access. The data supports more informed coaching, better practice habits and a more engaging experience for everyone who uses the facility.”

The Trackman Range forms part of a wider upgrade to the Aphrodite Hills Resort Golf Academy. Work is progressing on a new two-storey practice range building, which will include a reception and retail area, two indoor swing studios and 28 covered practice bays, all fully equipped with Trackman technology. The expanded academy is designed to deliver a best-in-class environment for structured coaching, player development and year-round practice.

On the course itself, a comprehensive bunker renovation programme is underway across the Cabell B. Robinson-designed championship layout, focused on improving consistency, presentation and long-term performance. These works sit alongside continued investment in irrigation efficiency and course conditioning to meet the demands of the Mediterranean climate.

Aphrodite Hills Resort continues to invest across its wider sports and leisure offering. The recently opened Starter Hut beside the first tee at PGA National Cyprus provides a striking arrival point and social hub, while development continues on the new Sports Hub, due to open this spring as a dedicated centre for tennis and padel. Further upgrades are also underway across the resort’s spa, hotel, villas and dining facilities.
