Although all the contracts have not yet been signed, the US$140 million “Kittitian Heights” project will definitely include an 18 hole championship golf course, designed by Ryder Cup captain and former world number one golfer, Ian Woosnan, which will be built on a site measuring 390 acres.
The project is being put together by Belmont Resorts Limited, a locally-registered company, in which the majority shareholder is a Trinidadian investor. The development has a very strong Caribbean flavour and will provide some 300 construction-related jobs. Over 700 persons will be employed when the resort is fully developed and operational. The developers will construct a boutique hotel, a luxury spa and wellness centre, luxury villas, artists village and an international recording studio.
