In launching the Scholarship, Ian Butcher Director of WINSTONuniversity said: “We believe Walter is an inspiration for those who wish to make golf their career. Through dedication, integrity, and a wonderful sense of the values of golf, he took forward not just his own facility, but the game of golf itself. He communicated the Spirit of St Andrews around the world, and now the Scholarship Fund will ensure his legacy endures through the next generation.
“We know there is a demand out there for talented young graduates who can contribute to an organisation’s long-term success, and sending them on their way with Walter´s endorsement behind them, combined with the real world skills we teach, will go a long way to securing them the best jobs.”
