John Letters of Scotland, the brand with 95 years of club making history, is delighted to announce that Paul Wesselingh has re-signed with John Letters for the 2013 season.
Letters played their part in helping the 51 year old Englishman complete a fantastic first year on the European Seniors Tour. Finishing fifth on the Order of Merit, ‘Wez’ was crowned the European Senior Tour Rookie of the Year.
Wesselingh said: “I can’t speak highly enough of John Letters and their team of tour staff; they really look after me. My clubs are great and I’m delighted to continue working with them in 2013 and proud to say I’m a John Letters staff player.”
‘Wez’ teamed up with Letters early on in the 2012 season and has never looked back. Playing the full complement of Letters equipment including Master Model Driver, fairway, Satin irons, MM grind wedges and a Golden Goose putter – Paul made the switch to Letters after testing the products on tour and being fully custom-fitted at the John Letters performance Centre in Huddersfield.
Paul was joint runner-up on his debut on the Seniors Tour, in the Mallorca Senior Open, and won the ISPS Handa PGA Seniors Championship at DeVere Slaley Hall a month later, finishing one shot ahead of Anders Forsbrand and Andrew Oldcorn. Seven other top ten finishes in 2012 put Wesselingh among the most consistent performers on the Seniors Tour and ensures his place at two major championships in 2013 as result.
‘Wez’ is the second high profile player to commit his future to famous Scottish brand in a matter of weeks, after Phil Archer put pen to paper on a new deal in January.
The equipment brand with 95 years of clubmaking history is enjoying a resurgence in the game and its most successful period on tour since its golden days in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. John Andrew, Managing Director, commented: “We were delighted to help Paul make such a great start to his career on the European Seniors Tour last year and looking forward to working together again in 2013. We’ve made huge strides with our equipment and out on-tour over recent years and its validated when players of the calibre of Paul and Phil Archer choose to play John Letters.”
