Experienced golf industry professional Tim Gilpin has been appointed as the new General Manager at Vicars Cross Golf Club near Chester.
Gilpin boasts a 25-year career in the golf industry, with his most recent job being general manager at Beau Desert Golf Club in Staffordshire. He has previously held positions at Walmley Golf Club in Warwickshire, and at Heythrop Park, Wokefield Park and La Moye, among others.
Gilpin said: “From qualifying as a PGA Professional at Tenby Golf Club, teaching professionally in the Channel Islands, to management at golf, leisure and then hotel resort properties, I have appreciated working with and gaining professional development from some great industry professionals. I am delighted to join the team at Vicars Cross and am committed to supporting the board to raise the profile of the club and develop the facilities there for members, visitors and the local community.
“We are encouraging more people, particularly women and juniors, to come along and try the sport in stunning Cheshire countryside. The training facilities at Vicars Cross are the best of any local club.”
