Three-time Open champion Tiger Woods and singer Justin Timberlake have unveiled plans to open a new sports bar close to the Old Course in St Andrews called T-Squared Social.

Part-restaurant and part-indoor sports venue, the announcement follows the recent opening of their inaugural T-Squared Social in New York.

Housed in the historic New Picture House Cinema on North Street, St Andrews T-Squared Social is set to feature Full Swing golf simulators, 10-pin bowling alleys, darts, and offer a menu of cocktails and traditional dishes.

The 90-year-old triplex theatre will require significant renovations to meet the needs of the new bar, including keeping one of the main screens for film viewings and watching live sports events on TV. It is expected to open next year subject to planning permission being granted.

Woods said, “The idea for T-Squared Social came to us during a round of golf at Albany, our development in The Bahamas. Justin and I thought it would be cool to create a place that combines our favourite things and bring people together to just have a great time. We always knew we wanted to do something together, and NEXUS gave us the platform to bring our idea to life in New York City and now St Andrews.”

Both Woods and Timberlake have a special connection to St Andrews. Woods won two of his 15 major titles at the Old Course in 2000 and 2005, while Timberlake has often competed in the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and has been actively investing in the sport, most recently collaborating with 8AM Golf on various golf projects.
