The Machrie appoints new general manager

The Machrie in Scotland has announced the appointment of Ian Ferguson as its new general manager.

Ferguson joins The Machrie team with over 30 years of experience as a leader in the hotel, golf and sports industries in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Most recently, he held the position of General Manager at Dundonald Links for over seven years, where he managed the hotel and golf operations.

Prior to this, Ferguson was Director of Hospitality for four years at Loch Lomond Golf Club, one of the finest private member golf clubs in the world.

With his extensive golf and hotel experience, Ian will further elevate The Machrie’s guest experience and continue to drive awareness, and revenue, for one of Scotland’s leading properties. 

The Machrie’s championship golf links is ranked 75th in the latest Golf World Top 100 list, and listed as one of Condé Nast Traveller’s Top 30 UK hotels in the Readers’ Choice Awards.

Commenting on his appointment, Ferguson said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining The Machrie as General Manager. It is an exceptional property in a truly spectacular location and I am very much looking forward to working alongside such a dedicated and talented team of staff.

“We will continue to evolve and improve the quality of the guest experience in one of the most unique golf and hospitality venues in Scotland and beyond.”
