Laguna Golf Phuket has announced the appointment of two key staff members, with PGA Professional Stephen Chick taking on the role of General Manager, while Asmitha Sathish has joined the Thai resort as Assistant PGA Professional.
Chick brings over 15 years of international golf management experience, having worked in the UK, the Middle East, China, Thailand and Myanmar. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Pun Hlaing Golf Club in Yangon, where he led operations to achieve record growth and established the club as Myanmar’s leading golf destination. A British PGA Professional, Stephen is recognised for his strategic leadership, focus on service excellence, and passion for growing the game of golf in Southeast Asia.
“I’m thrilled to have joined Laguna Golf Phuket and to continue building on its reputation as one of the region’s leading golf resort destinations,” commented Chick. “I look forward to working closely with the team to enhance the experience for our members and guests and to elevate the club to new heights.”
Sathish joins Laguna Golf Phuket from Golfzon Leadbetter Academy in Indonesia, where she was a Certified Leadbetter Golf Instructor. A professional golfer, she has competed on the Ladies European Tour and WPGA Australasia Tour. Currently, Asmitha is pursuing a PGA Foundation Degree in Professional Golf Studies and Business Management from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
“I’m excited to take this next step in my career with Laguna Golf Phuket,” Sathish stated. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to contribute to a dynamic environment that values both player development and the growth of women’s golf in Asia.”
Laguna Golf Phuket is situated within Laguna Phuket, Asia’s premier integrated resort destination, which features six world-class hotels and resorts as well as the region’s only PGA-affiliated golf academy.
