Resignation of the CEO of the Ladies‘ Golf Union

7.33am 7th December 2007 - People

In a statement issued from LGU headquarters in St Andrews a spokesperson said, “With regret, the Ladies‘ Golf Union has accepted the resignation of Lesley Burn, the CEO.

“Lesley has been in post since July 2006 and has been instrumental in the development of the LGU Business Plan 2008 – 2012 and in securing a number of high profile sponsorship deals. Through her contribution she leaves a more modern and forward thinking LGU, ready to face the challenge of implementing the Business Plan.

“Lesley will remain in the post of CEO until the end of January 2008 to deliver the Annual General Meeting.

“Both the Executive Council and Lesley have benefited from working together over the past 18 months and trust that the connection between the parties will not end in January. To this end, Council will be endeavouring to work with Lesley to capitalise on her excellent relationship management and sponsorship skills. Lesley recognises this as a valuable way to continue to support the Ladies‘ Golf Union into its exciting yet challenging new era.

“The Executive Council of the Ladies‘ Golf Union thanks Lesley for her hard work and enthusiasm and wishes her and her family well in the future.”
