New Appointments Strengthen Senior Team at Direct Golf UK

Following a record financial year and new store openings in Edinburgh, Dundee and Middlesbrough, Direct Golf UK, Europe’s leading multi-channel golf retailer, continues to strengthen its senior team and has announced two new appointments to underpin their continued expansion plans.

Richard Briggs, a PGA Professional and DGUK employee of four and half years, steps into the newly created Purchasing Managers position. Having previously headed Direct Golf’s Insurance business, Briggs has a wealth of knowledge about the business and will be charged with managing relationships with key accounts such as Taylormade, Nike, Mizuno, Cobra Puma and others.

Thrown in at the deep end, Briggs’ first day the in his role was not in the office, but 4,000 miles away at Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, for the 59th PGA Merchandise Show.

Commenting on his appointment, Briggs said: “What a first few days in my new role! Most new starters are in the office getting settled and learning the ropes, not flying 4,000 miles to see largest gathering of industry professionals and brands in the world.  It’s been an invaluable experience and one that will enable me to really hit the ground running; I can’t wait to get started.”

What’s more, Martin Donohoe joins the company as Digital Marketing Manager. Martin has a wealth of experience, both technical and commercial, within the digital marketing field and sis appointment underlines Direct GolfUK’s focus on growing sales, with digital marketing being a key sales driver.
