Surrey-based Burhill Golf Club, one of ten U.K. BGL Golf venues, announces the appointment of Matthew Hazelden as its new General Manager.

Matthew joins Burhill with over 25 years’ experience in the golf industry, including an 11 year stint as a touring professional which included playing in the 2004 Open Championship.

Following the completion of his playing career in 2005, Matthew was drawn to the business side of golf and has since garnered a reputation as an understanding, communicative and progressive General Manager at three prestigious venues.

The addition of such an experienced figure signals Burhill Golf Club’s continued commitment to providing the very best golfing and dining experiences.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to begin my tenure as General Manager at Burhill; a club steeped in history with a great reputation, but somewhere I feel I can make my mark,” commented Matthew.

“I’m highly motivated to improve the already-admirable member experience at the club and feel I’ve delivered high standards throughout my career in management. I’m confident that my 25 years of experience within the golf industry will serve me well as I embark upon this very exciting challenge.”

Established in 1907 and nestled in leafy parkland on the outskirts of Walton on Thames, Burhill has a long-standing reputation as one of the finest golf clubs in Surrey. The venue is highlighted by two superb 18-hole golf courses and a Georgian mansion clubhouse which is home to two bars, The Green restaurant and private dining facilities for up to 150 guests.

Matthew Hazelden joins with immediate effect.
