As part of his Never Settle journey in collaboration with global technology brand ‘OnePlus’, British Professional Golfer, Luke Willett, has set a new world record for the fastest 18-hole round of golf at the recorded time of 36 minutes and 04 seconds.

Attempted at the Horton Smith Golf Course, Luke Willett set the new world-fastest time on Missouri Speedgolf Open, which was witnessed and recognised officially by the International Speed-Golf Association (ISGA).

The world-record 18-hole round was played as part of the wider tournament, where Willett played two 18-hole rounds across Sunday 26 May and Monday 27 May. To remain fast and smooth on the course, Willet reduced his club set to a single golf club and competed during the record attempt against other professional Speed-Golfing athletes from around the world.

Luke Willett commented: “I’m ecstatic to have set the world record today for the fastest 18-hole round of golf, and to bring another Speed-Golfing accolade under my belt. Together with my sponsor, OnePlus, we hope this record demonstrates that everything and anything is possible with the right attitude.’’

Celina Shi, Chief Marketing Officer, OnePlus Europe commented: ‘’At OnePlus we have a mantra called “Never Settl”, where we are in constant pursuit of better and achieving more. True to our brand, we’ve sponsored one of our community members, Luke Willett, for his world record attempt as he is the epitome off our brand mantra. Congratulations to Luke for bringing another new world record to his collection!”

The record was set at the Horton Smith Golf Course which features 18-holes across 6,312 yards and is approved by the International Speed-Golf Association (ISGA) for the World Record attempt as meeting the criteria for course distance, run distance and of adequate par. The ISGA is also the official timekeeper, using both a double-signed scorecard and full-length video for time verification.

Willett is the current World Record holder for the fastest 9-hole round of golf, achieving a time of 20 minutes and 12 seconds in November 2023.

He  is a distinguished PGA Professional Golfer renowned for his exceptional speed and endurance on the golf course. A dedicated athlete and philanthropist, Luke has not only achieved remarkable success in traditional golf but has also made a significant impact in the world of Speedgolf.
