John Letters Golf Academy receives RangeMark Award

The John Letters Golf Academy, at the Stadium Driving Range, Huddersfield has become the first Golf Range facility in West Yorkshire to be awarded RangeMark, the EGU/EWGA national scheme that identifies and recognises quality ranges.

John Letters Golf Academy, at the Stadium Driving Range, Huddersfield has become the first Golf Range facility in West Yorkshire to be awarded RangeMark, the English Golf Union (EGU) national scheme that identifies and recognises quality ranges.

The EGU/EWGA scheme recognise the important role that driving ranges play in introducing adults and juniors to the game of golf and providing a variety of coaching and practice opportunities for all standards of golfers.  John Letters Golf Academy at the Stadium Driving Range received  recognition for their development work and also the standard of facilities they provide that links the national structure of golf facilities in England.

RangeMark assesses driving ranges on the following three area; participation, environment and Child Protection / Duty of Care. Upon accreditation driving ranges receive a variety of benefits including a certificate and plaque to display, which promotes their award, as well as some funding towards the development of golf at the facility.

James Beattie, Junior Development Co-ordinator at Stadium Driving Range, said: “We are very proud to be the first driving range in West Yorkshire to be awarded the standard. We work hard to develop junior golf in the local area and are delighted to be recognised as a high quality facility”.

Richard Brown of the EGU said: “The criteria for RangeMark is pretty stringent and a lot of work goes into satisfying our requirements, which is why only the best facilities are awarded RangeMark.”
