Golf to End Cancer (G2EC) was launched at the 2011 PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas as a way to promote the efforts of individuals and organizations in the golf industry to create a cancer-free world through its networking web site (www.golftoendcancer.com), corporate partnerships, and at Miracle Wellness Day events.

“It is a great honor for me to name Ed Woronicz the Executive Director of our Golf To End Cancer program. Ed is a close friend and a committed PGA professional with more than three decades of experience and relationships in the great game of golf,” said A.J. Ali, co-founder of Marathon of Miracles (MOM).

Ed Woronicz is a 31-year member of the PGA of America, with extensive professional and business experience in many segments of the golf industry, having held positions as Director of Instruction, Head Golf Professional, VP of Golf Operations as well as a consultant and the owner and principle of Creative Golf Solutions LLC. Ed has successfully managed many aspects of the golf industry including teaching, club operations, merchandising, sales networking and marketing, promotional programs, channel building and development, tournament/golf school operations and employee relations.”

“It is truly an honor to be selected as the Executive Director of Golf to End Cancer, and to be working alongside the great people at Marathon of Miracles,” said Woronicz. “My first goal is to build a team of area managers and directors that can help to spread the message of cancer prevention through wellness to the 26 million golfers across our country –many of whom have been impacted by this insidious disease.”

“At the same time I will leverage my relationships of 31 years in the golf industry to reach out to many of the golf industries most respected businesses, corporations and associations to solicit their assistance in making G2EC the big success it deserves to be. I lost my dear wife Karen to breast cancer in 2010, if thru my efforts at G2EC I can help others to never know the pain of losing someone they love to cancer, than I will have considered my life well lived,” stated Woronicz.

A.J. Ali and his wife, Jane, have known Ed for many years. “Jane and I mourned with Ed when his lovely wife, Karen, lost her battle to breast cancer two and a half years ago. We vowed to do whatever we could together to fight cancer and help people. As Ed moves forward in life, we are excited that we’ll be working together to fulfill our commitment to each other and the world of golf.”

“I can’t think of a better person to lead our efforts to promote wellness and cancer prevention through golf,” ended Ali.
