Following the success of the past two #FJThanksaPGAPro campaigns, FootJoy has once again partnered with The PGA to highlight outstanding service among PGA members.
Launching today [December 6], the campaign aims to celebrate both head and assistant professionals who have best served their clubs and local communities over the past year. The #FJThanksaPGAPro initiative will allow golfers to show their appreciation for the pros and assistant pros who go above and beyond.
With promotion for the campaign to run until January 8, golfers from around the country can vote for PGA Members by nominating them through an online form which will be shared on both FootJoy and The PGA’s communication platforms.
FJ Brand Director Russell Lawes said: “FootJoy recognises the importance and influence PGA Members have among golfers all over the country. We believe that it is our duty to champion the work of green grass professionals who dedicate themselves by going above and beyond for their members, club, and community.
“It is extremely exciting to see the #FJThanksaPGAPro campaign continue to go from strength to strength. We saw a fantastic number of nominations in last year’s campaign and we are looking forward to reading even more this time around.”
Commenting on the return of #FJThanksaPGAPro, Robert Maxfield, Chief Executive of The PGA, said: “We are delighted to be working with long-term PGA Principal Partner FootJoy on what promises to be another hugely successful social media campaign.
“We were taken aback by the response and success of last year’s competition, with more than 1,000 golfers getting in touch to highlight the incredible work PGA Members do at all levels of the game.
“This campaign will once again showcase the fantastic work and important role PGA Members play in helping people of all ages and ability to take up golf or improve their game.”
The 2022/23 campaign saw over 1,500 golfers take the time to nominate their PGA Professionals, with Alex Beckett (Frilford Heath GC) and Evie Carter (The Golf Centre Coalville) being announced as the two winners.
“I was delighted to be announced as a winner,” said Beckett. “I absolutely love what I do for a living and the members and the team at Frilford Heath are fantastic and so supportive. It meant a lot to me personally too. I moved from Norwich to Oxford for this role and this made it feel totally worth it.”
Carter added: “I was overwhelmed to be part of the #FJThanksaPGAPro campaign. It means so much to me, as I love my job and it was so kind that my clients nominated me. Massive thanks to The PGA and FootJoy for running this project.”
For the 2023/24 campaign, the competition will see the two winning pros earning themselves a new Apple iPad, with two runners-up receiving a pair of MyJoys. In addition to this, two randomly selected participants who take the time to nominate their pros will also be rewarded with a FootJoy waterproof suit.
Winners will be chosen by a combined FJ and PGA panel and will be announced in February.
