Chris Fitt, the Director of Golf & Leisure at Foxhills Country Club & Resort in Surrey, has been appointed as the new chief executive of Moor Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire.
Fitt, who has been at Foxhills since 2016, will take up his new role at the end of January 2023. He replaces Amy Yeates, who left Moor Park in October to return to Goodwood – where she worked as Assistant Manager between 2011-15 – in a new role as Venue Director for Levy UK + Ireland, Goodwood’s hospitality partner.
Fitt is a qualified PGA Professional and boasts a wealth of multi-faceted venue experience, having previously worked at Gleneagles, Brocket Hall and Golf at Goodwood.
A spokesperson for Foxhills said: “Chris has been a real asset to the Foxhills’ team since joining six years ago and it goes without saying that he will be missed. Chris joined as Director of Golf and then was promoted to his current position in 2019. In that time, he has been the driving force behind the growth and high standards across our golf courses and practice facilities, the Health Spa and was instrumental in the opening and launch of The Pavilion. We are sure we are not alone in extending our congratulations and wishing him the very best in his new venture as chief executive at Moor Park.”
With Fitt’s imminent departure, Foxhills has announced that his role will be split into two, with Sean Graham, the resort’s current Head of Golf Operations, being promoted to the position of Director of Golf, while Georgina Tyson will take on the role of Head of Leisure, continuing to oversee operations at The Pavilion, gym and all activities. The club has also announced the appointment of Heather Marriott as a full-time Activities and Fitness Manager.
Fitt said: “After nearly six fantastic years at Foxhills, leaving will be bitter sweet. I’ve had a huge amount of support and well wishes from my colleagues and the members already. I’m very pleased that my departure paves the way for all of my heads of department, Heather Marriott, Georgina Tyson, Sean Graham, Sorcha Pillay and Jen Pearce to step up with new areas of responsibility and I look forward to supporting them in the transition over the next few months.”
