The England Golf Awards will return as an in-person event for 2023 with the nomination process across nine categories now open to the public.
After the success of online ceremonies in 2021 and 2022, the 2023 edition will once again be staged in front of an audience of guests at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Thursday 2 March.

This year, nominations are being invited for the following categories:
- Club of the Year
- County of the Year
- Diversity and Inclusion Champion
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Participation and Development Coach of the Year
- Sustainability Project of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year

Nominations for the England Golf Awards 2023 will close at 11.59pm on 31 December.
An esteemed panel of judges drawn from a wide range of backgrounds in the golf industry will study each public nomination closely before drawing up a shortlist in each category and then selecting the winners.
In addition to the nine categories open to public nominations, England Golf will also present two other awards.
One elite amateur golfer or team will be recognised with the Performance of the Year Award. This will be selected from a shortlist drawn up by staff from the performance department.
The Tournament Venue of the Year will also be honoured at the ceremony. England Golf’s championship department will compile the shortlist in this highly competitive category.
All the award categories align perfectly with England Golf’s 2021-2025 Course Planner and “18 Tee Shots to Success” strategy.
England Golf CEO Jeremy Tomlinson commented: “This is a fabulous chance to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the many unsung heroes who give up so much of their time and put in countless hours of effort to support the club and amateur game.
“It’s always a great privilege to read through the many nominations and then salute the inspirational category winners and showcase their achievements to a wider audience.
“Once again, 2022 has witnessed a growth in the number of people playing golf in England.
“That would not be possible without a small army of dedicated volunteers and staff who go that extra mile to make sure the game of golf remains in good health not only for current players, but also for future generations to enjoy.
”It’s only right that we honour the people who bring passion and positivity to our sport as we ensure the game remains open to everyone to enjoy regardless of age, background or ability.”
The 2022 England Golf Awards, presented to an online audience by broadcaster and keen golfer Naga Munchetty, proved to be a huge success. Winners from all regions were recognised on the night for their sterling efforts to raise the profile and promote golf throughout England. Tomlinson added: “Every year we are inundated with nominations and I’m sure this year will be no exception.
“It’s a free and simple process and I’d encourage as many people as possible to head to the England Golf website and get nominating across a broad range of categories.”
