Crown Golf has recently started canvassing prospective candidates for the role of General Manager at Batchworth Park Golf Club, which is located just outside Rickmansworth, near Watford, Hertfordshire.
The new General Manager will take stewardship of P&L performance – overseeing comprehensive budgeting and cost-control efforts while spearheading strategies to boost membership, events, and on-site revenue streams. In addition, the role involves overseeing food and beverage operations and collaborating closely with course maintenance professionals to maintain championship-level conditions.
Crown Golf is one of the UK’s leading golf club operators, with nine clubs across Southern England, including the renowned St Mellion Estate in Cornwall. Their clubs offer championship-level courses, flexible memberships, green fees, society days, events, and hospitality services.
This leadership role is integral to advancing Batchworth Park’s ambition of delivering exceptional member experiences and commercial success. The successful candidate will be a proven leader, ideally with experience in golf or hospitality and capable of driving sales, fostering strong local and member relations, and inspiring a dedicated team of staff.
Recruiting this role is Richard Pilbury from Promote People. He commented: “This is an exciting opportunity to manage an outstanding club in a brilliant location. As such, we’re looking for an industry – golf and/or hospitality – expert. Someone with the drive and ambition to match the undoubted quality and potential of the facilities at the club.”
The role comes with a highly competitive compensation package, including a generous bonus, enhanced pension, and 33 days of holiday, plus bank holidays. The company also offers a supportive senior management team and the autonomy to steer the club’s strategic direction.
