Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, UAE, announces a two-year extension to its partnership with Peter Cowen, one of the world’s leading golf coaches.
The affiliation allows The Academy at Emirates Golf Club, also home to the Majlis Course, rated No. 97 in Golf World Magazine’s World Top 100 ranking, to use Peter’s experience and expertise during his regular visits to the Emirate.
Peter, a former Tour champion himself, will provide insights and training on the latest techniques and tuition methods, work with the team on the schedule and structure of lessons being offered, and use Emirates Golf Club as a base to bring players to use the practice facilities and golf courses.
Christopher May, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Golf, which manages Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, said: “Peter is one of golf’s most respected coaches and his knowledge, experience and energy will allow us to maintain world-class standards at our teaching academy.
“Peter will continue to have a very active role in the development of our teaching programmes and how they are then communicated to the thousands of golfers, beginners through to Tour professionals, that use our academy facilities at Emirates Golf Club each year.”
Peter has worked with some of the very best players in the world including Major champions, European Tour winners and Ryder Cup players. His customer base has included Thomas Bjorn, Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington, Henrik Stenson and Louis Oosthuizen.
2010 was arguably Peter’s most notable coaching year to date, helping Westwood take 2nd at the Masters, McDowell win the US Open and Oosthuizen win the Open Championship at St Andrews, with Westwood 2nd and Stenson 3rd.
Commenting on his extended partnership with Emirates Golf Club, Peter Cowen, added: “Playing a significant part in the future direction of what I believe to be the best teaching facility in the region is very exciting. Emirates Golf Club, and its team of highly-trained PGA Professionals, continue to offer golfers of all level the very best tuition and guidance – I’m proud to be a part of that.”
