Meldrum House, the historic country hotel & golf course in Aberdeenshire, has appointed Neil McLean as its new Membership Manager, marking the latest chapter in the luxury venue’s ongoing investment plans.

Neil, who has over 18 years of sales and business development experience, assumed the role at the beginning of March to help enhance the experience for both new and existing members in both the personal and corporate membership categories.

“We’re delighted to welcome Neil to the team at what is a pivotal time for Meldrum House,” said Managing Director Jordan Charles. “We’re making significant investments to the golf course and hotel to offer members and guests an unmatched luxurious experience and Neil’s appointment aligns perfectly with our ambitious growth plans.”

The new appointment announcement comes just after Meldrum House won the ‘Best Premium Hotel’ award at the prestigious 2025 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards, which took place in Aberdeen for the first time on March 20.

Recent improvements on the Knights parkland golf course are part of a substantial investment plan by Apex Hotels, to enhance and diversify the venue’s high-end facilities. They include an all-new state-of-the-art suite of greens machinery and tractors with the latest GPS technology worth more than £700,000; the addition of TopTracer to all 13 driving range bays; an ultra-modern £500,000 kitchen update to deliver world-class cuisine for members and guests.

Commenting on his appointment, McLean said: “I feel very privileged to join Meldrum House and help the venue in the next stage of its evolution. Building on a rich history of excellence in service and with the recent investments across the venue, we have the perfect foundation to position Meldrum House as one of the very best venues in Scotland and I look forward to building relationships with our members and enhancing their experience.”
