Rudy Anderson, a 42-year veteran of the international golf and private club industry, has announced his departure from Pacific Links International. As CEO of its global activities outside of China, Anderson has led the development of the Pacific Links International since 2016. From his initial appointment to the company in 2011 to this year, Anderson has continually advanced the global partnerships, resources and initiatives focused on creating world’s largest reciprocal golf network.
“Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience with countless memories that are among the best in my life,” Anderson said reflecting on his tenure at Pacific Links. “I’m especially grateful for the multi-national team we created and the incredible support they provided over the years, the mentorship of Mr. Du Sha, Founder and Chairman of Pacific Links, and all the golf industry contacts I’ve had the pleasure of engaging in all corners of the world. These friendships are my greatest accomplishment.”
Until on the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, Pacific Links International had been successful as a membership-based service organization, which connects golf members in China with golf clubs in partnership with Pacific Links through organized outbound travel. Pacific Links network of affiliated and reciprocal golf courses grew to over 500 properties located in 52 countries, with many located in gateway cities and resort destinations with its membership count in China exceeding 20,000.
Anderson’s plans for the future include remaining engaged in the industry while also enjoying some leisure time.
Anderson’s career has also included 23 years with ClubCorp where his responsibilities while living in Asia, Europe and the United States have included corporate oversight of club acquisitions, regional operations, and direct management of world-class clubs and resorts. Over the course of his career, he has transacted over $700 million in golf course assets.
Golf Inc. magazine’s ranked him in 2006, 2007 & 2008 as one of the industry’s “The 25 Most Powerful People in Golf”. His accomplishments and impact were regular subject material for industry publications. He has been a regular speaker and contributor at industry conferences around the world.
