The world of amateur golf may never be the same again after the announcement of the alliance between Globalgolfers.com and International Pairs. The two companies have joined forces to present the most comprehensive amateur programme of golfing events in the UK and Europe.
Globalgolfers.com currently run two of the most established events in the UK, the News of the World Transatlantic Team Trophy (nine years) and The Daily Express Four Man Team Challenge (seven years). Together the two events attract in excess of 10,000 players, predominantly non-club golfers.
The International Pairs, which sees tens of thousands of club golfers competing annually, is targeted purely at the established club player and the new partnership will cover all corners of the amateur golf world. Additionally, Globalgolfers.com has strong ties with national media while the International Pairs has strong ties with Regional and local press.
Collectively, these events have attracted in excess of 400,000 participants since inception.
Globalgolfers.com director Ian Mulcrone said, “We’ve known Ross (Honey – founder of the International Pairs) for over 10 years and he has been running events for club golfers, while we were running events for non-club golfers. This is the merging of two different amateur golfing entities and the real focus is that we will have an unrivalled portfolio of events that will appeal to all amateur golfers. The idea of marketing the two events is to present a very powerful offering to sponsors which adds value to the programme and gives substantial leveraging opportunities.”
Ross Honey added, “I am delighted that an alliance has been formed between International Pairs and Globalgolfers.com. It’s a great opportunity to link the vast national, regional and local newspaper media networks that we have, coupled with television and radio coverage.
“The combined strength of these three events into one turn-key sponsorship solution will offer any title sponsor a unique range of opportunities that up until now have not been available to this highly sought after market.”
