Smartpro Coaching, a unique website designed to improve the way professional coaches run their business, is celebrating after signing its 400th coach in just ten months.
Launched in May 2010 by PGA Advanced Professional, Sarah Claridge, Smartpro Coaching has gone from strength to strength in the United Kingdom and Ireland and is becoming increasingly popular with coaches across Europe.
One of the most recent coaches to sign up to Smartpro is Simon Tillson from Alresford Golf Club in Hampshire. Simon said, “I decided to sign up to Smartpro because I thought that it would be a really valuable resource in helping my players to improve.
“I am hoping that going forward it will make it far easier to communicate with my pupils because it will provide a useful link with them outside of lesson time.”
Sarah added, “We have been overwhelmed by the success of the website over the last ten months and are thrilled that coaches really seem to be taking to the resource and getting the most out of it. As well as an increasing number of coaches we now have nearly 6,500 players using over 10,000 smart sheets and our personalised user areas, which really shows how the site’s popularity has grown.
“Smartpro works for different coaches in different ways but I think that the key to its success is the fact that it eases communication between coach and player, especially outside lesson time. The coach is able to categorise players into groups so that he or she can target a specific audience to email or promote their business to.
“The smartsheets, with over 70 different topics, allow the coaches to run their business in a smooth, organised way and the players are stimulated by interesting and fun game improvement resources that keep them coming back time and time again, to work out weaknesses that have been highlighted by using the toolkit.”
The Smartpro Toolkit is currently being used in 10 countries across Europe including Spain, Switzerland and Austria.
An Advance Professional since 2006, Sarah has over 17 years industry experience, recently working for the PGA of Europe and the R&A as a golf missionary providing coach education and player development in countries where golf has yet to be established. In 2010 Sarah visited Latvia twice where she used the smartsheet skills tests as a training tool. www.smartprocoaching.com
