After a slow start to his 2011 campaign, double European Tour winner Gary Orr has enjoyed a recent return to form with back to back top 10 finishes in the Austrian and Dutch Opens.
Well known for his methodical approach, Orr commented that the recently released smart phone App ‘Systematic Golf’ has rejuvenated his practice and given him greater belief on the course.
“The first half of the season was frustrating for me, but ‘Systematic Golf’ has helped renew my focus and been the ideal preparation for my tournament play. After all, it’s not just what I practice but how I practice that really matters”.
The App is the creation of Drift Golf Club’s PGA teaching professional Lee Johnsonwho is delighted that ‘Systematic Golf’ has had such a positive effect on Orr’s golf, but was quick to point out that it is designed to give golfers of all ages and ability an equal opportunity to practice better and take their improvements to the course.
“Systematic Golf is designed to enhance tuition and practice, not replace it, with professional tips on preparation, and drills which promote key set up and swing fundamentals, whilst the ‘Practice Challenges’ and the ‘Scoring System’ ensure that time spent practicing is truly effective.
As fellow golfers we admire the way Tour players swing and stay focused week in week out, but rarely do we get an insight into how they practice … until now. My teaching experience over the years with club golfers, aspiring juniors, and Tour players has led to the compilation of this easy to use system and it is based on well structured quality practice which is both enjoyable and productive.
It is great that Gary Orr has benefited from ‘Systematic Golf’, but in earlier trials with four club golfers I teach, the results were equally positive and they have all enjoyed significant handicap reductions.
‘Systematic Golf’ is available on Apple and Android, with Blackberry devices due in early November.
