Shot Scope unveils H50 handheld GPS

Leading performance tracking and distance measuring device brand introduces new handheld device

Shot Scope‘s new handheld GPS device, the H50, arrives at retail today [March 16], expanding on the Scottish firm’s award-winning range of distance-measuring products.

Powered by Shot Scope’s patent-pending golf map technology, the H50 delivers fast, accurate yardages and advanced visual course data in a sleek, easy to use touchscreen device.

Designed to improve club selection and on-course decision making, the H50 provides precise front, middle and back distances, along with dynamic ‘plays like’ yardages that account for elevation changes.

Mapped yard by yard, the Shot Scope H50 sets a new benchmark for handheld GPS devices, combining dual-band GPS technology with innovative course mapping to deliver exceptional precision in a golf-specific handheld.

“The launch of the H50 represents an important milestone in our mission to transform the way golfers visualise each hole,” said David Hunter, CEO of Shot Scope. “By bringing detailed mapping and green contour insights to a large, responsive touchscreen, the H50 helps golfers plan every shot from tee to green with confidence. It’s an exciting development for anyone looking to improve their course management without complexity.”

The H50 comes preloaded with over 42,000 golf courses worldwide, spanning more than 600,000 mapped holes, with Shot Scope’s in-house team updating more than 8,000 courses annually to maintain industry leading accuracy.

The H50 features detailed hole maps, green view with pin placement, green contours, and digital elevation maps to support smarter shot planning throughout the round.

Built around a large 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a feature rarely found in golf GPS hardware, the high resolution display offers exceptional brightness and clarity in all lighting conditions and is IPX7 waterproof, ensuring reliable performance in rain or wet conditions.

At the heart of the H50 is interactive hole mapping, giving golfers a full overview from the tee with multiple viewing modes including satellite imagery, automatic hole zoom and large-format green distances.

Players can easily identify hazards, layups, doglegs and landing areas using simple touch-and-drag functionality, helping them make faster, more confident strategic decisions during the round.

The H50 also includes a built-in digital scorecard and connects seamlessly to the Shot Scope app, allowing golfers to sync rounds, review scores and store performance data.

Designed for practicality, the H50 features a strong cart magnet for secure mounting and large high-contrast numbers displayed clearly in portrait or landscape for easy viewing.

The H50 also includes a competition mode that disables features such as slope and elevation to ensure compliance with the Rules of Golf.

Combining precise GPS accuracy, touchscreen technology and seamless app connectivity, the Shot Scope H50 offers golfers modern visuals, accurate data and smarter course management in one handheld device.

All Shot Scope hardware and software features are available with no subscription fees.

The H50 is available to buy now at retail stores and online at www.shotscope.com.
