Ryder Cup wives and girlfriends step out in stylish weatherwear

Paul and Marian Lawrie of Team Europe watch the action in ther ProQuip weatherwear

The Ryder Cup crowd is notoriously raucous and rowdy, however, providing a touch of class and elegance to the swathes of golf fans at Medinah Country Club, Chicago, Illinois, are the players’ ever-stylish wives and girlfriends.

Joining the vociferous galleries to offer their support, the partners of the European players were supplied with their own team uniform – stylish waterproof jackets, specially designed by ProQuip, Preferred Supplier to The 2012 European Ryder Cup Team.

In striking Team Europe colours and Ryder Cup branding, the players’ number one supporters stand out in a crowd and allow them to follow the action out on the course without the worry of being caught in the wind and rain.

The visiting team were presented with their Ryder Cup rain suits as they arrived for the biennial matchplay event and will be carrying the high performance weatherwear in case of a repeat of the downpours seen last year, when more than two inches of rain fell between 25-30 September.

A limited number of replica team suits are available from the Official Ryder Cup online store for fans to emulate their favourite Team Europe players.

Golfers are also able to wear their own version of the European Ryder Cup weatherwear following the launch of ProQuip’s new Trophy Suit, featuring the same high-performance fabric worn by Team Europe.
