Penfold Golf has partnered with the Seve Ballesteros Foundation to launch an exclusive collection of golf accessories, starting with a golf glove which has been co-designed by Javier, Miguel and Carmen Ballesteros.
From the moment he competed in the Penfold PGA Championship at Royal St Georges in 1975, Seve’s first event on UK soil, Penfold knew he was the right man to represent the company. His style, creativity and flair caught the eye and matched Penfold’s vision for the brand. The company immediately signed him to a staff contract and he used Penfold golf balls, wore a Penfold GX glove and carried a Penfold bag for the rest of the 1970s.
Seve went on to win his first UK event at the Uniroyal International at Moor Park Golf Club using a Penfold Ace with diamond marking – the inspiration behind the diamond logo on the new GX glove. And when he famously won The Open Championship at Royal Lytham in 1979, he won using a Penfold Tradition ball.
The Penfold Seve glove set includes two GX cabretta leather gloves, one featuring red piping, the other blue. Both feature the Penfold diamond logo on the strap and the iconic Seve Ballesteros silhouette logo on the label.
It comes in a special presentation box with navy and red highlights and Seve’s silhouette across the front. It has an RRP of £45, with a percentage of the proceeds going to support the Seve Ballesteros Foundation.
