Marbas Golf Unveils New (Invisible) Brand Identity…

3.51am 17th February 2011 - New Products

Marbas, the Italian golf brand renowned for its fine, high quality shirts and knitwear, has unveiled its new brand identity… but only on the inside of its garments.

The company, which is an official supplier to the Open Championship and produces bespoke collections and crested shirts for some of the best known golf clubs and courses in the world, including St AndrewsLinks and Augusta National, rarely displays its logo on its own collections.

However, fans of the brand and connoisseurs of the finest quality golf clothing, will see a new brand identity inside its shirts and knitwear, with the former, bold, uppercase branding replaced with a new stylish, italicised corporate identity on collar labels. The company has also launched a new website, www.marbasgolf.it.

“There is a growing need in the ultra-competitive golf apparel market to distinguish between high-end, quality garments that embody first-class craftsmanship and design heritage, and high-volume, mass market sports brands,” said Marbas Golf marketing director, Fabrizio Consoli.

“Marbas stands for the absolute excellence and quality of its garments – and we wanted to reflect this quintessential message in all facets of our business, from our new company logo to our website.”

Fabrizio Consoli added: “We know that the positioning and price of Marbas Golf garments may be fractionally higher, but true value is in the appreciation of quality materials, precision manufacturing, style, fit, comfort and long-term durability. And you don’t need a logo on your shirt to prove that.”

The re-brand comes as Marbas Golf continues to expand its business in the UK, Ireland and Middle East. It also follows recent research from Just Style, the apparel and textile industry’s leading online resource, which forecasts a return to growth for the golf apparel sector between 2011 and 2013[1][1].

The brand’s products are already available at world-class golf destinations, including Turnberry, Royal Mougins Golf Club, Valderrama, Golf Resort La Gruyere and this year’s Open Championship venue, Royal St George’s Golf Club. It is also an accredited supplier to TGI Golf, the green grass golf retail group with more than 400 members, largely PGA professionals, at leading clubs and courses throughout the UK and Europe.
