KBS, the only brand to offer a high-performance shaft for every club in the bag, has continued its global dominance this year with more than 45 wins across the game’s elite male and female Tours.
The brand has also had a Major champion in every year of its 15-year existence following a dominant display on home soil at the Evian Championship in France.
The popularity, reliability and trust in KBS is felt nowhere more than the LPGA Tour, where 48% of its players this year have had a ‘Red and Black’ label in the bag, which has accounted for more than a quarter of the brand’s wins this year.
“The number of victories this year is incredible and to see the amount of KBS shafts on Tour across every club in the bag is a testament to the brand, the Tour team and R&D department who both put in the grind every day,” said KBS Marketing Manager, Rhett Taylor.
“We have two huge team events coming up in the Solheim and Ryder Cup and we’re excited to watch as we have over a third (20) of the players across both Team Europe and Team USA trusting KBS in what is probably the highest-pressure test they can face in golf,” he added.
The Solheim Cup will see 11 players using KBS shafts as they begin battle today at Finca Cortesin in Southern Spain. Next week, nine of the World’s best male players will take to the Marco Simone Golf and Country club in Rome for the Ryder Cup using KBS shafts. Half of Team Europe will have KBS shafts in the bag, including the latest Swedish sensation who won the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre GC in Switzerland using KBS Tour130x in his irons and wedges, which earned him a Captain’s pick.
Another member of Team Europe is playing some of the best golf of his career right now and will look to continue that form at the bi-annual event. “The hottest player in the game right now is going to be teeing it up for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup following his dominance in the FedEx Cup rankings and we can’t wait to see him in action in what is truly a global event that captures everyone’s attention,” added Taylor.
The 26-year-old Norwegian has had his best year as a professional winning three times on the PGA Tour. Using KBS Tour V 120g in his irons and one of his wedges, plus the Tour V 130g in his other three wedges, the current World no.4 captured the Memorial Tournament trophy at Muirfield Village in June before going back-to-back last month by winning the BMW Championship – shooting a course record 61 in the final round – and the Tour Championship to become the third youngest winner of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
In the women’s game, another European has achieved huge success with three wins including a maiden Major victory on home soil at the Evian Championship at the Evian Resort in Evian-Les-Bains, France in July shooting four rounds in the 60’s and winning by an incredible six shots. The 29-year-old uses a KBS Graphite Hybrid Prototype, PGI (Player’s Graphite Irons) shafts (80g) and KBS Tour V WEDGE shafts in her 50 and 54 degree.
She has 13 professional wins to her name and also captured the sought after Scottish Women’s Open this year held at Dundonald Links in Irvine by two shots and a fifth LPGA Title by winning the Arizona leg of the Drive On Championship in March.
Played by choice by more than 300 professional golfers worldwide, the brand with the distinctive Red and Black label partners with every club manufacturer in the game to offer the best players in the world 18 different shafts across every club in the bag. Steel and Graphite choices include nine iron options depending on swing speed, all featuring different weights and flexes.
