Austrian-based Heaven Golf, Inc., is introducing a new golf footwear system in the United States designed to help improve balance and promote a more relaxed, dynamic walking motion while traversing the course.
Having already made an appearance at Golf Europe and The London Golf Show, the shoes will debut to U.S. golf retailers at the 2014 PGA Merchandise.
Led by former Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) co-owner Hermann Oberschneider, Heaven Golf has developed its award-winning footwear concept through years of technical innovation and extensive feedback from the golf and health communities.
Introduced in Europe earlier this year, the patented footwear system has already garnered recognition for its innovation. The design won the Red Dot Award from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, one of the oldest and most highly respected design institutions in Europe, and the ‘New Golf Award’ from Golf and Wellness, a German trade fair focused on products that improve enjoyment of the game.
“All of the focus in the golf footwear market has been on comfortable, stylish or waterproof shoes,” Oberschneider said. “The Heaven Golf shoe achieves those things while also helping to give you a better understanding of your balance position before your swing or while walking the course.”
The innovation in the Heaven Golf shoe is the Dynamic Balance Technology, a rounded outsole with an open chassis in place of the padded foam midsole found in conventional golf footwear. The unique outsole can help provide the golfer with a better awareness of balance and also promote a more fluid, natural walking motion that contributes to better overall health.
“Golfers spend a lot of money on being fitted for clubs, swing lessons and other instruction to improve their scores, but they forget about starting their swing from the proper position,” Oberschneider said. “The Heaven Golf system is designed to help create balance awareness before you pull the club away from the ball, and it also makes walking the course a more relaxed, dynamic and enjoyable activity.”
For ultimate comfort, the Heaven Golf shoe features an EVA insole and a TPU outsole that delivers the stability and shock absorption needed for walking 18 holes through varied terrain.
The shoes are solid white with black accents and are available for men and women through the company website with a suggested retail of $299.
