Luxury designer brand G/FORE, one of the coolest contemporary golf brands in the USA, has launched its maiden apparel range in the UK, focusing on men’s knitwear.
The G/FORE knitwear collection offers a modern interpretation of a classic style in custom-developed, hybrid-blend fabrics which provide the ultimate in both performance and luxury.
Special features of the launch range include all-natural yarns; moisture-wicking and fast-drying properties engineered for breathability; built-in UV sun protection; resistance to shrinkage and fading; and four-way stretch to allow essential freedom of movement. The cotton pique knit even features a functional yarn that reflects UV light away from the body, providing a cooler, more comfortable wearer experience.
Created four years ago by US fashion icon Mossimo Giannulli – who founded the billion-dollar clothing company Mossimo Inc in 1987 – G/FORE has already established itself as a design leader in both the golf glove and shoe sectors.
And fuelled by Giannulli’s love of golf and his background in fashion, G/FORE knitwear – polos, pullovers, cardigans and turtlenecks – combines function and style in eye-catching, premium golf apparel. Bringing a touch of personality, fun and colour back to the game, G/FORE honours golf’s storied past while looking toward the sport’s bright future.
Giannulli said: “We are taking a real fashion perspective with a cleaner aesthetic. This combination is a unique opportunity for us. The knitwear is just the latest addition to a G/FORE offering which already comprises the brightly coloured premium AA Cabretta leather gloves – worn by such familiar names as 2014 US Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson, and two-time PGA Tour winner Jonas Blixt – and the equally eye-catching Gallivanter leather golf shoe, which, for 2015, has introduced a fresh line for women.
The 2015 range of shoes come complete with a biomechanically engineered, injection-moulded TPU outsole featuring multi-level exclusive ‘G/ROUND CONTROL’ technology, designed to offer optimal traction in even the most treacherous and rain-soaked conditions.
