In a highly progressive move to enhance its membership services, the Golf Club Managers’ Association is launching its new Eagle-designed members’ app at its National Conference at the Hinckley Island Hotel on 11th November.
After seeing the success of the Eagle golf club members’ app throughout 2013, and the high level of smartphone and tablet usage by GCMA members, National Secretary Bob Williams wanted to ensure that all of the Association’s members could take advantage of the rapidly changing communications technology, and asked Eagle to develop an app exclusively for the GCMA.
“With the wide range of services and library facilities that we make available to our members, and because so many golf club managers now carry their smartphones around with them constantly, it makes perfect sense for an app that enables all of the GCMA’s members to access that information on the move wherever they are.
“Being web-based means the new GCMA members’ app will also work just as effectively on their tablets and desktop PCs as well. This helps us to ensure that virtually 100% of our membership can take advantage of this terrific new piece of communications technology. The app is also going to make the job of the Regional Secretaries that much easier and efficient as well when it comes to arranging matches, sending out Notices and so on.”
The new GCMA app comes with a range of features that will enable any GCMA member to:
- find out another member’s contact details,
- check the GCMA diary for national and regional events,
- keep up to date with GCMA news,
- arrange and enter team matches
- delve into the GCMA’s library and website
- access and fill out GCMA forms
- check out or post their own messages notices on a new online Noticeboard
- and enjoy several other features such as e-mail, or link straight into the European and PGA Tours.
There is also a special feature for the GCMA’s sponsors, as Bob Williams explains, “Sponsorship is very important to the GCMA, and the new app has been designed to give them plenty of additional brand exposure and value for their money.”
Summarising the new GCMA members’ app, Bob Williams said, “I’m delighted that Eagle and the GCMA have been able to partner on developing this terrific new service for the GCMA’s membership. It’s a big step forward, and I think that it is going to prove a huge benefit for both our thousands of golf club managers and for the GCMA itself.
