One of the show’s presenters, Pollyanna Woodward, had eight weeks to learn to play golf using all the technology available to her. And she turned to the GC2 simulator at Luther Blacklock’s studio inMilton Keynesto help improve her game, describing it as “one of the most accurate golf simulators in the world”.

Blacklock, a PGA master professional, head pro at Woburn GC, Golf International teaching panellist and inventor of the Explanar training aid, is an enthusiastic advocate of the GC2 and has incorporated it with a full simulator set-up at his studio.

Using the GC2 and Explanar in tandem, Woodward was able to see an almost instant improvement in her distance and accuracy illustrating perfectly why the Foresight Sports’ unit is recommended by Titleist, TaylorMade, and Cleveland and used by six of the world’s current top 10 golfers.

Pointing out how the simulator could display instantly her progress, she explained: “The real ball is instantly transformed into the virtual ball with pinpoint accuracy.

“The simulator allows you to play a whole round of golf without ever leaving the room and the launch monitor is completely portable so you can use it wherever you want to practise.”

The GC2 records the most accurate ball-flight statistics on the market today, directly measuring ball flight and spin at club impact and launch and calculates carry and total distance in a split-second.

Its portability means the club pro can utilise the unit for coaching and club-fitting before hooking it up within the clubhouse simulator where it can be hired out or used for competitions. Up to 70 courses are available and the simulator can be designed to suit individual budgets and room sizes.

In addition, with the simulator including a projector and giant display screen, it offers the facility to be utilised as a ‘cinema’ experience.

Woodward’s fellow presenter, Suzi Perry, wrapped up the challenge segment of the show, and concluded: “We have proved technology can help you learn a new skill.”
