FootJoys updates PRO|SL shoe

FootJoy has launched an updated version its tour-proven Pro|SL shoe that promises to deliver more traction and increased stability.

An all-new outsole design provides 189 points of traction to improve contact with the ground, with an 11.5% per cent wider heel and increased forefoot stability providing a solid foundation throughout the swing.

A dual-density foam midsole enhances both stability and cushioning, with a firmer area around the perimeter for support and control, and a softer foam under the foot for maximum cushioning and comfort. The uppers are made from ChromoSkin waterproof leather.

FootJoy has also created an additional option, the Pro|SL Carbon, which integrates a full-length carbon fibre insert into the midsole for enhanced stability. The carbon fibre flexes and elastically snaps back to its moulded position, recovering more of the energy generated while walking and allowing the body to work less. This, says FootJoy, will result in less leg and foot fatigue at the end of the round.

The new Pro|SL will be available at retail in four laced styles (£149.99) and one BOA closure (£169.99) from February 1, and for custom options on MyJoys from February 3. The Pro|SL Carbon, which is offered in Black/Charcoal/Grey or White/Charcoal/Grey (£179.99) will not be available on MyJoys.

An all new Women’s Pro|SL, offered in White/Silver/Grey Grey/LT Blue and White/Silver/Rose BOA, has an RRP of £124.99 and will be at retail from April 1.
