The World of Golf driving range in south-west London, Europe’s busiest golf range facility with 14 million golf balls hit during the past year, is joining forces with the top-selling golf club brand in Japan to offer golfers customised club fittings.
Six PGA teaching professionals will be providing free custom-fit sessions at the range featuring the new premium XXIO9 clubs, designed for both men and women players. The fitting sessions will be held seven days a week at the hi-tech Performance Centre that acts as the range’s dedicated tuition facility.
“We attract a lot of golfers in the south London area who are very familiar with the status of the XXIO brand and are delighted to be associating World of Golf London with such a quality range of clubs that lend themselves to those who are serious about the playing game well,” said Grant Wright, CEO at World of Golf.
“XXIO9 is a key launch for us in 2016 and we are striving to educate golfers in the UK about the game-changing benefits that Japan’s #1 club brand can bring to their games,” said UK & Ireland Brand Manager Ben Davis. “Our relationship with World of Golf has been extremely successful over the years, so naturally we are delighted to be working with them and their team of experts to grow the XXIO brand.”
As one of the best-equipped facilities of its kind in the country, the World of Golf Performance Centre incorporates all the latest swing and ball-striking measurement devices – GC2/HMT, Swing Catalyst, TrackMan and Flightscope – to help golfers find the right clubs and prepare effectively for the new golfing season.
“At no cost to the golfer, we’ll be able to provide them with a precise prescription of what they need to complete their dream set of XXIO9 clubs,” said World of Golf Master Professional Duncan Woolger. “Within an hour, we can fit a customer with the ideal set of irons, hybrids, fairway woods and driver to suit their swing and improve their game. They can then order the clubs directly from a microsite set up by the manufacturer to handle custom fit orders,” he added.
Each of the teaching professionals has been trained in the technology behind the latest XXIO clubs, which have been the top selling line in Japan for more than 15 years and are favoured by players of all abilities, including Women’s British Open champion Inbee Park.
