Club Car, the world’s largest manufacturer of four-wheel electric vehicles, has added more robust reporting capabilities to its Visage mobile communications system, helping clubs to enhance profits.
The new functionalities will go beyond static descriptions of features and benefits to demonstrate operators’ potential return on investment in five key areas: food and beverage, merchandising, tournaments, maintenance and green, golf car and member fees.
A retooled Visage electronic calculator will provide industry averages in the five categories, allowing operators to enter their own course information and clearly view the potential financial impact the system could have on their operation.
“The added insight can make purchasing, inventory and staffing more efficient,” commented Roberto Gorostiaga, Club Car Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The enhanced food and beverage functionality, for example, will help operators make better-informed decisions about their F&B operations.
“Its new web-based reporting tool will capture menu choices golfers make from their golf car and relay the information to the Visage control centre, where operators can download the information to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and easily identify which items are selling best and which are generating the highest profits. ”
Anna Darnell, Golf Director at The Grove,UK– a Troon Golf-managed operation that ranks among Golf World’s Top 100 UK Courses – explains: “Interestingly the F&B tool has positively impacted pace of play at The Grove.
“Due to golfers now being able to order food while out on the course – to either be collected at the halfway house or delivered directly to them – no time is wasted at the turn for food to be prepared,” she continued.
“The system has meant that golfers don’t lose their momentum and, once re-energised, you find they want to get right back out there and get on with their round. Visage has also enabled us to get groups through to the 10th tee faster without rushing them.
“For our operators, the application has allowed us to develop and maintain a profitable revenue stream, as well as offer a unique added value – and a novelty feature – to visiting golfers,” Anna Darnell concluded.
