Italian golf fashion brand Ducal Del Cosma has launched a new special edition women’s golf shoe which has been co-designed by Melanie-Jane Lancaster, partner of Dutch Tour star and Duca del Cosma player Joost Luiten.
With her partner and six-time Tour winner Joost having signed with Duca del Cosma in January, Melanie-Jane was approached to co-design her own women’s golf shoe with guidance from Head Designer Baldovino Mattiazzo and the Duca del Cosma team. Appropriately called the MELANIE-JANE shoe, it is designed to meet the demands of a busy lifestyle of golf, travel and business.
“I am from a golfing family and love fashion, so I was absolutely delighted when the opportunity came about to design my own Duca del Cosma golf shoes,” said Melanie-Jane, whose early years were spent at her father’s golf course The Dunes, in Zandvoort, Holland. “I believe it’s very important to wear golf shoes that look great and perform at the highest level, while remaining comfortable when I’m travelling across the world with Joost.
“To have worked with the Duca del Cosma team to achieve this combination and produce the MELANIE-JANE shoe is something that I am very proud of and I am sure will be a big hit with fashion-conscious women golfers seeking a top-quality super comfortable golf shoe,” she added.
Hand-crafted using a patented leather outer and other premium materials, the special edition shoes combine a Waterproof Bootie System with the innovative ARNEFLEX insole for exceptional cushioning, plus the lightweight Airplay VI outsole to deliver unrivalled comfort and optimal stability. Strategically positioned 5mm cone-shaped nubs run across the sole of the shoe for enhanced grip during the swing.
In terms of aesthetics, the predominantly white shoe features a sporty black trim, along with five stars to reflect the high standards that should be followed in life and sport. Distinctive black eyelets feature on the top of the shoe, along with two pairs of luxury laces to deliver a striking look that can be paired with any outfit. An orange letter ‘C’ on the heel support resembles the colour that Joost wears on any Sunday on Tour and adds a super-premium look and feel to the shoe.

In her everyday life, Melanie-Jane organises a host of ladies golf tournaments across Holland and also documents her travels with Joost in a blog – Melanie On Tour – in an effort to help Dutch golfers understand what life is like at an elite level on Tour.
