Club Car, the world’s largest manufacturer of small-wheel electric vehicles and the official supplier to The European Tour, has rounded off a successful year, with victory for its ground-breaking connected mobile golf information product, Visage, at the 2015 Middle East Golf Awards (MEGAs).
The third edition of Sport360’s MEGA awards, which took place at the One & Only Royal Mirage Amphitheatre, Dubai, had 16 different categories and Visage, which is incorporated, as standard, on Club Car’s Precedent i3 vehicle, claimed the coveted title, Best New Golfing Product of the Year.
Designed to provide golf club managers with a successful fleet monitoring tool, while also ensuring the ideal customer experience for the golfer, the interactive touch screen Visage platform has now been integrated in Club Car fleets at more than 600 courses throughout the world.
Commenting on the award, Phil Lewin, Director of GPSi Europe, manufacturer and supplier of the Visage mobile golf information system, said: “Visage accounts for over 80% of the market within this particular industry segment and we pride ourselves on developing long-term relationships with our clients, which has enabled us to become a trusted supplier to an ever-increasing number of courses, not only in the Middle East, but the wider EMEA region as well.
“The award is testament to the hard work of everyone at the company. With ongoing product innovations with the Visage system, we aim to push the bar even higher next year and continue to help change the face of the industry.”
Hydroturf International, the distributor of Club Car vehicles and the Visage system in the UAE, collected the prize on the night, with Colin Baxter, the company’s Managing Director, commenting: “The MEGA awards help recognise the work of golf courses and suppliers in the UAE and it is a great honour to receive this prize on behalf of Visage, Club Car and everyone at Hydroturf.”
The award helps to reaffirm Club Car’s leading position within the EMEA region, as the past 12 months has seen the company install new vehicle fleets at a number of prestigious courses; including The Grove, the host venue for the 2016 British Masters, Gleneagles, home of The 2014 Ryder Cup, The Address Montgomerie, one of the Middle East’s most luxurious and desirable golfing destinations and the Belfry, one of the UK’s busiest golf resorts.
Reflecting on the company’s successful 2015, Marco Natale, Vice President of EMEA at Club Car, said: “Club Car’s growth throughout the year is the result of our commitment to providing the highest quality of golf car, connected technology and aftersales services, which help to deliver tangible benefits to our customers’ businesses.
“The company’s success is underpinned by the hard work and commitment of our network of dedicated dealers and with the appointment of new partners during 2015, specifically in France, and the on-going establishment of the brand within key markets, 2016 looks set to be another strong year for Club Car.”
