Calvin Klein, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation [NYSE: PVH], and Premium Golf Brands (PGB), the exclusive licensing partner for Calvin Klein Golf, today announced that Calvin Klein Golf will be the first golf apparel brand to incorporate ADVANSA ThermooCool™ technology into its base layer range. Men’s and women’s garments featuring this new fibre technology will appear for the first time in the Fall 2011 Calvin Klein Golf offering.
ThermooCool™ has been developed by fibre experts ADVANSA and is designed specifically for the sports apparel market. The ADVANSA ThermooCool™ yarn actively protects the wearer from temperature change, keeping the body comfortable regardless of the outside temperature or the physical intensity of the wearer’s exercise. As well as offering superb performance qualities, ADVANSA ThermooCool™ is ecologically friendly as it employs no chemical treatments. The key to its performance is a unique combination of fibres with a hollow core alongside fibres that have channels on the surface, allowing increased air circulation and improved moisture transport. Unlike moisture wicking products, ThermooCool™ garments draw sweat away from the skin and into the outer layer of the fabric, providing superior evaporative cooling.
“Golfers are always looking for garment technology that can help them enjoy their game more,” said Grahame Jenkins, Executive Director of Premium Golf Brands. “There are products that work well in warm conditions and those that excel in cold. The difference is that ThermooCool™ works in every weather condition. It is a remarkable technology and will add value to our apparel line up.”
“We are very pleased and excited to be associated with Calvin Klein Golf in the introduction of performance garments into their new golf apparel line. ThermoºCool™ is the fruit of our commitment to develop, while respecting the environment, innovative products, which offer to the final consumer comfortable performance garments with a great touch,” said Silvia Toledo, Global Ready-to-Wear Market Manager at ADVANSA.
