Social Media Platforms are to be introduced by the PGAs of Europe as part of a widening relationship with website partner AVC Media designed to upgrade the association’s communications strategy in line with up-to-the-minute methods.

As part of the upgrading, the monthly e-newsletter, Working Together, is to have a new web-based format, beginning with the May issue. Also, Facebook, Twitter and You Tube are to be launched with links prominently displayed on the Home Page of www.pgae.com

“The way people are communicating is evolving rapidly and this has especially been the case over the past 12 months,” said chief executive, Ian Randell.

“These improvements are being made to improve visitor experience, encourage visitors to share the information on the site with colleagues, associates and friends with a similar interest and to spread relationship over multiple channels,” he added.

“Having reviewed the website traffic statistics for the past year we are seeking to focus on the interests of our core audiences of PGAs and PGA Professionals. We are looking to ensure greater engagement by providing the platform and tools for the development of an international on-line community for these groups to interact with us and each other.

“This will be focused on sharing good practice especially in education, coaching and career development.”
