Open ‘micro site’ from Golf365.com

8.00am 20th July 2006 - Media

Golf365.com has unveiled a brand new micro-site to bring fans news, views and results from this year’s Open Championship, live as they happen.
The site is the latest in a series of popular specialised sites from TEAMtalk Media Group, the owner of Golf365.com, including the spectacularly successful WorldCup365.com, which attracted more than 13 million page impressions in June alone.
“The Open Championship is the biggest event in the golfing calendar and regular users of Golf365.com made it clear that they wanted even more in-depth coverage than usual,” says Dave Tindall, site editor, “The site will be a mix of our usual high quality coverage and new features such as a daily blog, which I’ll be writing from the course.”
The decision to put the site together followed the popularity of the US Open micro-site, which proved a big hit with users of Golf365.com and its sister site, sportinglife.com.
“All our sites provide in-depth coverage of every major event in their respective sports and we’re the market leaders when it comes to dwell time, but some really big events merit even more focused coverage,” says Graham Shaw, editor-in-chief of TEAMtalk Media. “The Open is one of these and golf fans will be able to source all the news, information and stats they could want on one dedicated site.”
sportinglife.com’s news team will also be providing additional stories and comment for the site to supplement the contributions from the Golf365.com team. www.golf365.com
