Media Week reports that TalkSport, the speech radio station, has signed up photographic brand Nikon as sponsor of its golf coverage for the rest of 2008.
Nikon will sponsor 11 golf tournaments that feature on the station this year, covering all four majors, the Ryder Cup and World Match Play.
The six-figure sponsorship deal was negotiated by Travis Glen, sponsorship executive at TalkSport and Tracey Brown, associate director at MediaCom.
Matt Wilson, TalkSport’s sponsorship and promotions director said the deal further extends Nikon’s association with golf. Nikon is already an official partner of the British Open. “Whereas usually Nikon wouldn‘t be connected to tournaments such as the Ryder Cup,” he said. “now the brand will be seen to be part of the wider golf world.”
