New ‘Spy’ Service Set To Inspire Golfers

Golfers can now keep their fingers on the pulse with the launch of a ground breaking web-based service from ispygolf.com. Working with hundreds of venues throughout the UK and Ireland, from the traditional classics of Wentworth and Walton Heath to the breathtaking links of Turnberry, Old Head and Royal Dornoch, ispygolf.com provides a central resource of information and up-to-date news that is intended to inspire as well as inform.

Via a network of professionally designed and easy-to-navigate websites, ispygolf.com provides a one-stop-shop for golfers to find out what’s on offer where; to compare society and corporate day venues, and discover the perfect golfing getaway, that sought‐after membership or dream golf property. Whatever golfers are looking for, ispygolf.com provides a fast and easy way to find it.

With thousands of stunning course photographs, advanced search functionality and extensive course and facilities information, ispygolf.com is a major leap forward for the golf directory concept.

In addition to a sleek and professional design, the site offers services extending to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and more. Novel features include a visual iSpy Difficulty Rating, akin to ski slope ratings, which serves to grade courses based on Standard Scratch Score from a ‘relatively easy’ green, through to a ‘very challenging’ black, to help golfers find a course that will suit their game.

Users can sign up for a free and personalised iSpy Alert service, which not only updates them with the very latest news and information, but personalizes the detail based on their golfing interests.  Registered users also benefit from exclusive offers and (soon to be released) personal profile pages and social networking facilities.

iSpyGolf.com is the brainchild of James Rogers, a marketing professional, and Ed Saxel, a professional golfer, who launched the service to improve online golf search and make the whole process more enjoyable for golfers.

“The idea was to create a dynamic service that makes it easy to find what you’re looking for, while actually whetting your appetite to get out there and tee it up.” said Rogers. “We wanted to combine the technological aspects of the search with something that appeals to all of us, which is imagery. As a golfer, nothing makes me want to throw the clubs in the boot and head off to play more than a stunning photo of a spectacular course. That was our starting-point; creating something that was both useful and visually satisfying.”

ispygolf.com is an independent service run by iSpy Golf Ltd, a marketing company established in 2009 specialising in providing services to golf clubs and destinations. The in-house team comprises professional marketers, web designers and golfers who have combined to develop a platform that helps promote courses, facilities and services more effectively online. The service is initially being used in the UK and Ireland, and will extend to European venues. www.ispygolf.com
